What is it?
Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, is an extra layer of security that has proven to be between 90-99% effective in preventing potential fraudsters from gaining access to your account.*
When enabled, it prompts you to enter a code generated from your mobile authentication app.
Enabling 2FA
- Log into your Coinmama account
- Click on ‘Profile & Security’ on the left-hand side of the page
- Select ‘Enable 2FA’
- Follow the instructions
Using 2FA
-
When placing an order, you’ll be prompted to confirm the order and wallet.
-
Open the authentication app on your phone and enter the corresponding six-digit code.
- If the code is correct, you will be directed to the Payment Method menu to proceed with the order.
Resetting 2FA
If you lose access to your phone or authentication app, don’t worry! All you’ll need to do is take a selfie holding a handwritten note with today’s date and the text “I want to reset my Coinmama 2FA”.
Once you have taken the selfie, upload it to your Coinmama account in the ‘Profile & Security’ section and our verification team will do the dirty work.
Disabling 2FA
You can disable your 2FA at any stage through the ‘Profile & Security’ section. When disabled, you will be required to confirm your wallet address via email after placing an order.
